Progress report #20
Hi everyone,
I'm taking advantage of a moment when both of my PCs are busy: one rendering, the other simulating hair, to write this update.
So, what news on my end?
Health-wise, I'm doing better. I can walk without any issues, go up stairs, and all that. I'm not running yet, but honestly, that's not really recommended for me anyway, so... For now, my gout is stable too, and I assume the medication is doing its job. The only real nuisance is the migraines. I've been stressing a bit too much lately, both because of real-life problems and because I'm really far behind on the game's development.
On the personal side, like I just mentioned, I've been dealing with several issues related to local life (it's election season in France, among other things) and family matters (my little one got lice, and guess who has very long, very thick hair...). But well, that's life, I guess!
As for the game, progress is being made. I feel like I'm working at a pretty decent pace, but this chapter is just so much more demanding in terms of both technical work and content... As you'll see from the numbers, the animations have progressed a lot. I've fully completed the first naughty scene, the second one is almost finished as well, and the first animation for the third one is already blocked out. As for the current action scene, the first of the chapter's two action scenes, the animations are done, and so are the still renders. And we're talking about 8 animations here, with the shortest being two seconds long and the longest running over 15 seconds! I can safely bet that 99% of the AVNs you've played don't have animations like these.
These animations, both the spicy ones and the action ones, are keeping my render PC busy 24/7 and my posing PC occupied every night, to the point that I still haven't been able to render the posed stills for the scene.
And speaking of renders, this scene is massive (I'm already over 200), and in terms of code, it's also huge, with more than 400 lines. The full chapter is now around 6,000 lines in total.
I sincerely hope you'll appreciate all the work that goes into it!
On top of that, as you probably know, a lot of developers in the AVN space know each other and stay in touch. And I'm no exception to that rule — quite the opposite, actually, since I'm a pretty talkative person.
So today, for once, I'd also like to give a little spotlight to a game that means a lot to me. It was the first adult game I ever played, and it's probably one of the games that, in a way, helped make Glowing Stones possible.
The developer is a very good friend of mine, and some of you may have already met one of his characters in the game. In fact, it's the only guest character who actually has a role in the story.
Of course, I'm talking about Cerea, from the game Ataegina.

And the reason I'm bringing it up today is because my friend has decided to release the game on Steam after a lot of hurdles along the way.
I really encourage all of you to wishlist it, both to give him a hand and because the game is genuinely worth checking out. Some of the visuals may feel a little dated at times, but the story and the characters are truly great. And if the release does well, it will also help him improve the quality even more for Volume 2.
Thank you all!
