One Month Later

30/07/2025 · Release · Demonherd

To take our minds off the growing fear of censorship that's making it increasingly difficult to promote NSFW products online, we thought we'd talk a little about the future of the series and your impressions of this first entry in the Demonherd Series.

Before we go any further, know this: Demonherd is, first and foremost, a labor of love. These characters were born from years of role-playing with friends, and transposing their adventures into a video game is our way of immortalizing our own adventures.

Speaking of love...

It's been over a month since the game's official release, which nevertheless enjoyed a decent run in Early Access. Reading all your comments and reviews on this, our first steps into the world of video games, has been truly incredible!

Starting immediately with the criticisms, the most popular seems to be without a doubt the absence of a quest log of any kind.

Having a very small number of testers prevented us from realizing how difficult it can be to remember the instructions of so many NPCs! Most of our Early Access players have been with us since the beginning of our journey, slowly learning the game by heart. Of course, when you have the entire game in your hands all at once, the situation is very different!

I now find myself in a very difficult situation, because unfortunately, including a Quest Log at this stage of development simply seems impractical. The risk of breaking saves and quests is almost a certainty, making it impossible for us to implement the "easiest" solution to the game's main criticism.

While we're working on a solution, one of our Discord users is kindly working on a complete walkthrough for the game! We hope this will help those who are having trouble remembering the directions for so many NPCs!

A fix for this problem will definitely arrive in our first patch. My current plan is to allow Baal to give the player directions at least for the main quest, at least providing a direction to focus their exploration.

Keeping the game so open and giving the player so much freedom has always been our priority, but we actually underestimated the need to still have enough hints to point the way forward.

Right after this, another of the requests is definitely for a gallery for NSFW sequences... but there's a reason for its absence.

I've always worked on Demonherd thinking of it as a game with adult elements. The heavy presence of sexual content is primarily driven by the story we wanted to tell. Our characters love sex (some more, some less), so this game wouldn't have worked without these elements.

Every NSFW scene I've written always includes an attempt to further explore the character of one of the characters involved, or at least continue the plot. This was obviously my intention, but since I enjoy this type of content so much, I probably got carried away too!

All this preamble is to say that... I didn't think the gallery was so necessary! I've provided a way for anyone who's interested to download all the scenes, knowing full well that they would/will all be posted online sooner or later anyway.

In any case, I got your message loud and clear: In our future titles, we will always offer a way to review NSFW sequences!

I've been writing a lot, I hope I'm not boring you too much! I promise I'm almost done! To break up the wall of words, check out one of my artworks of Gloria! For some reason, I always like to draw her sweating like crazy...

That said, while Demonherd was always intended to be a "complete" game, with no plans to add anything post-launch, we will still be offering some fixes and some small extra content in the coming months... perhaps something holiday-themed!

Finally, I'll leave you with our official YouTube channel dedicated to Demonherd! Here you can listen to all the original music our team is creating for the series! We'll also start adding tracks from Demonherd Dungeon in the coming months!
