July Progress Report
Hey Boo,
I'm always thinking about the game. The events and fleshing out the world in my easy-bake-oven-brain.
I think about peoples comments but also what it means.
And it brings me much more joy than considering the political machinations of dealing with payment processors.

Part of getting criticism is knowing what to do with it because people and stories are complicated. Sometimes, I'm in the wrong mood for a certain kind of story. Part of the ritual of the movie theatre, the stacks, the drink, the dark room and complete group silence prepares people to receive a story.
Books, phone games, and youtube videos don't have that luxury. Arguably, TikTok has a ritual of trial, error and an infinite feed.
It can take me a while to get into a game, so if an introduction is universally rough, I don't know it until I talk with some other people. It takes a lot of self awareness to know what is a subjective or less subjective problem.
This genre of AVN is conversations with cute girls. I drape it in drama and jokes just because I'm not enamored with slice-of-life. It's also what I like most in visual novels. When I'm grinding out the RNG sandbox or staying at the BiDik party planning puzzle, I miss talking to the girls.
There's a few notable things. I have cute points with each other the sisters and the more of these points, the more they should say cute things and more dialogue.
IRL, people can talk too much and sometimes about things I don't care about. I have zoned out of entire topics. I thought I could simulate this with Bryerly. I Gave her a huge couple of paragraphs, they wiz by, and they are full of unnecessary details. I tried to signal that it's just your brain and a thing that will happen. But people kept trying to read it and thought it was a bug.
Then there's the conversation off-ramps. Some topics of conversation felt a bit long to me and I could imagine someone not really caring and just paging through. Which is fine but I feel like starting a habit of paging through a story might be a habit that backfires. So, I put conversation off-ramps. Little choices with no penalties that will excuse the reader from more conversation.
Both of these choices have meant confusion and I think it's from me underestimating the genre asks. People are here to read some conversations with cute girls before those girls take off their clothes.
It's not universal. There are plenty of people that talk about the "random" dialogue that either are not into genre rhythms or don't release they are reading jokes. (I'm sorry foreign readers.)
We all know I'm not going to stop writing jokes.
Special Renders
I've been making some summer themed renders. How is this different from the other renders I make for my game that takes place in the summer of 2022?
...
So, here's one.
