Important News For Linux Users!
Hey everyone!
So, "The Linux Issue(tm)" has been brought to my attention. For those unfamiliar with the issue, I am being told that the game will not launch on Linux, as it is missing a Linux-specific launch file. Building the Linux version through Ren'Py doesn't seem to be generating that file. Players are telling me that using Proton Experimental through Steam is allowing them to launch it on Linux, but this is having a side effect of causing the game to block them at a certain point in the story, preventing progression. I do not personally know how Proton Experimental is altering the code in order to integrate itself, so I can't say that I'd know how to resolve that.
I'll be honest. I don't know a lot about Linux. I've never used it, nor have I ever really known anyone who did. But what I DO know, is that im a dedicated, stubborn asshole, and I WILL figure it out.
That said, it's gonna take an unknown amount of time to track the issue down. Could be days, could be weeks. Won't really know until it happens. I do not want to delay the update because of that, but be advised that once the update goes public, fixing the linux issue becomes my most immediate priority, and the game will be patched as soon as that fix is in!
Just wanted to be honest with you guys about where my head's at on this. "The Linux issue(tm)" WILL get solved! It just won't be before this update goes out.
I hope you all understand.
Many thanks!

!!!UPDATE!!!:
News Journalist Voice: I am now being told that the game launches perfectly fine on linux, when launched directly from the game folder, using the .sh file. So the issue appears to be how Steam itself integrates with the executable on Linux.
