Greyvale Rivalry - Episode 2 - Status Update #2
Hello everyone,
We're back with another status update. Let me be real with you—it's been a painfully annoying couple of weeks. Not gonna lie, these last three weeks were absolute hell because our rigs just kept crashing every single time we tried to render the statics we'd posed. It got so bad that at one point, we had three weeks' worth of posed scenes just sitting in the queue because the hardware stubbornly refused to spit out more than 10 renders a day.
But! We finally found a fix for it a couple of days ago, and we're officially chewing through that massive backlog of stacked-up renders. Also, during that whole mess, we figured out that our rigs somehow didn't crash when rendering animations. So, to avoid losing time, we shifted gears and started working on the cinematics instead. So far, we're about halfway through the first one.
Alright, now that the usual semi-monthly dev rant is out of the way, let's get down to the numbers!
First scene: We actually finished putting this one together in just 3 days, but thanks to those constant crashes I mentioned, the actual render time dragged out to almost a full week.

Second scene: We are still rendering this one. We also decided to add a cinematic to it just for good measure. It's churning through the render queue at a snail's pace, which makes sense considering how absolutely massive this scene is.

Third scene: We started this one a couple of days ago. It's almost finished on the posing side and will probably end up being around 110 renders. Just like the others, it's currently sitting pretty in the render queue waiting for its turn.
