Episode 3 Part 2 - NOW LIVE!

Hi all!

So you’ll be expecting the Ep3Pt2 update any day now, I’m sure. Well that day is TODAY.

The rest of the episode is now live on Steam. It will come in the form of a massive patch! :D

(I'll monitor the community discussions to find bugs. Thank you already to those who have flagged the Katie and Leia sexualEncounters exceptions! Those should now be resolved!)

Full disclosure, due to the snails pace at which I work, I’ve not released to steam for quite a while, so that took a bit of re-learning as it’s not super straightforward using the sdk and making sure all the ID’s line up etc. I think I’ve worked it out, but please bear with me if there are hitches with this.

I’m really pleased with the rest of Episode 3, and I know it’s taken FAR longer than I had anticipated, but hopefully you’ll see the quality of the content and understand why it’s taken this long.

I’ve just added up the stats the entirety of Ep3Pt1 and Ep3Pt2, and there are 12,305 images and 716 animations, so I do feel that it’s pretty good value.

I know it’s taken time, believe me, I know that more than anyone, but when you’re a solo dev, and only able to work in the evening and weekends, it’s just the nature of the beast.

One thing I do want to say and disclaim now, is that for SOME of the animations, I have used AI. I’ve seen a lot of backlash about AI being used in VN's as it’s seen as ‘lazy’ or an ‘insult to the art’ side of things.

While I understand that viewpoint, you can’t do lewd animations using AI (for obvious reasons which I agree with), or at least ‘I’m’ not able to do them. I’ve used AI to essentially add transition animations, but also with some facial expressions, some kisses etc. It does save time, but from my perspective it also gives you some more immersion that wouldn’t be there otherwise.

I’ll be interested to hear thoughts on it, if people think I’ve used it too much, or if you think that in future episodes it just shouldn’t be used at all. I personally think it works. I don’t think anything really ‘stands out’ as AI, but it’s not just about what I think. I do want your feedback to as to the direction I take with regard to AI and I will listen to feedback.

Overall, I’m still absolutely loving developing this game, it’s my get-away from my normal job which is far more serious and stressful, and a chance to do something I love for the enjoyment of being creative, and quite honestly, rendering beautiful women.

As I’ve mentioned before, my overall goal is that game development does become my full-time job eventually, and I’m putting some major wheels in motion this year to get myself a closer to that, but well all have bills to pay, and Jury simply won’t support those right now.
