Episode 09 Devlog - Another Big One, Translation Projects and a Milestone

The day that all of us have been anticipating has arrived! Work on Episode 09 has been completed! To begin, here's the teaser trailer:

This episode is another big one in terms of animations and word count, and marks a milestone for us as we have now replaced all the placeholder background art with handmade backgrounds from our environmental artist. We've also included a number of additional episode translations for our Chinese and Spanish readers!

One thing to note is that the Spanish translations for Episodes 03 through 06 are not entirely complete, as they still require a pass by the proofreader. However, we decided to include them as they are mostly complete and we did not want our Spanish readers to have to wait until the next update to get to experience them. We expect they will be given a bit of extra polish before their final versions are included alongside a future episode.

Speaking of the future, we have recently begun arrangements to attempt translating FUNS into Japanese as well. The next update should include a translation of the first episode, which we will look at as a bit of an experiment. If the response is positive, we would be happy to continue and translate the entire game! Seeing as we don’t speak Japanese though, we will have to rely on you guys to tell us if it’s worth pursuing. We look forward to your feedback!

As one small bit of additional information: We are making an adjustment to FUNS’ expected completion date. Considering the scale of our recent episodes, the release cadence and the possibility of expanding FUNS slightly, we thought it would be prudent to shift it from late 2026 to sometime in 2027. Also, to be completely transparent, we do not predict it will be early 2027. We know that likely isn’t a surprise to those of you who have been paying attention to our production schedule, but we figured we might as well formalize it so that there is no confusion.
