🛠️ Development Update - November
Hey everyone!
We've taken a short break on development recently to ensure we're taking the right steps for Hell's Bells, but now we're back.
What's been in the works:
Cruelle's Ritual is now wired end-to-end. Six cards. One choice. A path that does not forgive.
We've tuned the reveal so it sits inside the scene so no menu, no break, just breath and consequences. Keyboard input is clean (1-6), rollback is disabled at the moment of commitment, and repeat attempts now shift the ground beneath you.

What changed this week:
Ritual flow: Cards remain visible during dialog, choice overlays pause input cleanly with no more accidental skips.
Variability: Mapping for Cruelle can be shuffled per attempt, increasing replay variance without breaking the pace.
UI Clarity: A major UI overhaul has taken place to introduce a new reactive main menu, thematic dialog box, and much more. Text prompts and timing windows are sharper.
Stability: Fixed edge cases with screens eating clicks and misbehaving. Cleaned up route indexing and label scoping to prevent softlocks.

Currently in progress:
Sister Chastity and Sister Mercy will inherit the same ritual framework, just tweaked to suit their characteristics with new plates, new paths, and distinct flavours.
Writing Passes: Dialog tightens where it should cut, making the sisters meaner.
We're not hurrying the descent, we're making sure the floor holds when you step.
