📰 Dev Update #1 – Where We Are Now
This is our first Dev Update, and since this is also the first game we’ve ever developed, it took us a bit of time to figure out how we wanted to approach and structure these updates.
Now that the process is clear and everything is moving in the right direction, we’re ready to move forward with confidence.
From this point on, we plan to share a Dev Update every two weeks, giving you a clear and honest look at where development stands and what we’re working on.
Here’s where Drift on Destiny Line is right now.
Hello!
We’re a small but passionate team developing Drift on Destiny Line. From the very beginning, our goal has been to build this project together with the community, and that means being transparent about our progress.
Our team consists of three people. Asteria handles the game’s coding and technical development, Caty is responsible for all visual creation and atmosphere, and Zrk works on the story and music. Below is a breakdown of where each part of the project currently stands.
The technical foundation of the game is currently in a very solid state.
The menu, gallery, and reward gallery systems are fully completed.
We decided to completely rework the in-game phone system, as we felt the original version was too shallow. This system is now being rebuilt from scratch.
The game is almost fully playable from start to finish without major issues.
There are a few minor, known bugs that are actively being fixed.
So far, approximately 11,000 lines of code have been written for the project.
Most core systems are in place, and the current focus is on stability, refinement, and polishing the overall experience.
On the visual side, production and improvement are progressing steadily.
Around 9,000 static images have been created for use in the game so far.
While Chapter 2 continues to be developed, some scenes from earlier chapters are being fully remade or significantly improved.
A great deal of work has gone into lighting and character posing to create a more consistent and immersive atmosphere.
New characters that will be introduced with Chapter 2 are actively being developed.
Visual quality continues to improve through ongoing refinements and scene adjustments.
The focus is not just on attractive visuals, but on building scenes that truly carry emotion and atmosphere.
The narrative and music side of the project is now largely structured and clearly defined.
The main story structure, spanning 5 chapters, is fully planned.
Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 are completely written and filled with content.
We’re putting strong emphasis on making player choices more meaningful.
Instead of allowing players to easily pursue every character at once — a common approach in this genre — we’re intentionally making those paths more challenging.
Starting especially with Chapter 2, decisions will require careful thought, planning, and commitment.
All music for Chapter 1 has been completed, and we believe it does a strong job of pulling the player directly into each scene.
Our goal is to deliver an experience where romance and eroticism are intense, while every choice carries real narrative weight.
This is where we currently stand.
There’s still plenty of work ahead, but everything is now on track, and we’re confident in the direction the project is heading.
We’re not building this game just for you — we’re building it with you. From now on, you can expect Dev Updates every two weeks, keeping you closely involved in development.
The biggest support you can give us during this process is adding the game to your Steam Wishlist — it truly helps us more than you might think.
If you’d like to stay even closer to development, you can also follow us on X, Patreon, Instagram, and YouTube to see more updates, behind-the-scenes progress, and future announcements.
Your feedback, and comments are mean more to us than you might think.
Thank you for walking this destiny line with us.
