Dev Log May 2026 & a new Bundle
Hello everyone,
This one is going to be a bit longer than usual. If you're just interested in the current numbers and preview images, scroll to the bottom.
First point on the "agenda":
I joined a new bundle with Glowing Stones and Ataegina. While Moonlight, with his game Glowing Stones, is a long-time partner and friend by now, Ataegina just released Act 1 here on Steam. As usual, the bundle is set to "Complete the Bundle," which means you only pay for the games you don't own yet. On top of it, all games are on Discount right now.
You can find the bundle here:

The second point:
I'm at the 4-month mark on Chapter 8, and I haven't even started on Medb's path.
Following my prior approach of releasing new chapters as full chapters, that would mean a development time of roughly 8 months for the full Chapter 8.
Now, I know a lot of you will tell me, "take your time, we'll wait," and I appreciate your patience a lot, but the thing is, I get annoyed by how long this is taking.
Usually, I reach that point when I get close to the 6-month mark, and I just push through because the end of the chapter is in sight.
The only chapter where I wasn't able to do that was Chapter 6, and I'm not fully happy with the result.
I cut scenes that I thought were unimportant, but looking back, I should've kept them.
I don't want to fall into the same trap with Chapter 8 and Medb's path.
On the other hand, I've never been a fan of "part" releases. Chapter X, part 1, etc.
So here I am, trying to make a decision where I like neither of the available options:
1. Keep working on the full Chapter even if it takes another 4 months or even more.
2. Split the Chapter and release the Medb path separately.
As I said, I hate both options. The first because I'm afraid that the Medb path will be lackluster simply because I'm unable to put in the time it would need.
The second because it will feel like half-assed releases.
To be absolutely honest, I lean towards the 2nd option simply because I don't want to take "shortcuts" on Medb's part and want to invest the time it deserves (especially because of her absence for so long).
That doesn't mean that option 1 is out of the window, though. I'll be doing the same I did the past few weeks - "let future-Ceo deal with that decision."
I'll see how long it takes me to finish all work on the non-Medb part and then take a look at the calendar and decide.
Let me know in the comments what you think - maybe it will help clear my mind. :-)
The third point (Dev Update - finally):
I finished Kaija's scene, and I'm working on Fiona's 2nd scene right now.
It's almost fully written and scripted, but it's lacking most of the necessary static renders and animations.
That will be my work for the next two weeks, probably.
After that, I will move on to the Chapter endings of the non-Álfheimr part.
It will have 2 different endings, both with slight variations depending on your decisions throughout the game.
When all this is done, tested, and basically ready for release, I'll make a decision (see above).
The non-Álfheimr part and the other part are completely independent from each other. They're basically two Chapters in one because they happen at the same time.
To put the current state into numbers:
1431 static renders
37 animations
4172 lines in the script files
That's it for now, have a great time, guys.
Cheers,
Ceo
P.S. preview renders...
